Each year on November 15, communities across the country celebrate America Recycles Day, the only nationally recognized day dedicated to promoting recycling and buying recycled products. It’s a chance to spotlight the progress we’ve made, the work still to do, and the power of recycling to protect our environment and support a thriving circular economy.
At AgTech Recycling, we’re proud to play a hands-on role in that effort every day — turning post-industrial and agricultural plastic waste into reusable resin that can be transformed into new products.
What Is America Recycles Day?
America Recycles Day was established in 1997 by the National Recycling Coalition and is now led by Keep America Beautiful. The goal is simple: encourage everyone to recycle more, recycle right, and buy products made with recycled materials.
It’s more than just a date on the calendar — it’s a reminder that every choice we make can help reduce waste, conserve natural resources, and protect the planet for future generations.

Why Recycling Matters More Than Ever
According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), recycling and reuse activities in the United States support hundreds of thousands of jobs and contribute billions of dollars in wages and tax revenues each year. Recycling also reduces the need for raw materials, conserves energy, and keeps valuable resources out of landfills.
For plastics, that impact is especially important. While recycling rates for plastic materials have improved, there’s still plenty of opportunity to grow — and that’s where specialized recyclers like AgTech step in.
AgTech Recycling and the Circular Economy
At AgTech Recycling, we take post-industrial and agricultural plastic waste — materials that might otherwise be sent to a landfill — and process it into high-quality recycled resin.
That resin can then be used by manufacturers to make new plastic products, keeping materials in use and out of the waste stream. This process is a real-world example of the circular economy, where materials are continually reused rather than discarded after a single use.
Every pound of recycled resin represents energy saved, waste diverted, and resources conserved — tangible results that support both industry and the environment.
How You Can Take Part
Whether at home, at work, or in your community, there are easy ways to make a difference this America Recycles Day:
Recycle right: Know what’s accepted in your local recycling program.
Buy recycled: Look for packaging and products made from recycled materials.
Share the message: Encourage friends, coworkers, and neighbors to get involved.
